Dental Crowns

A dental crown is the preferred method of stabilizing a tooth when evidence of fractures is present. Crowns, also known as “caps”, wrap around the outside of the tooth and provide greater strength to the tooth than a large filling. Crowns also prevent the underlying tooth structure from flexing underneath, allowing your tooth to remain strong and useful for years to come!

Other indications for crowns may be esthetic reasons or to stabilize a tooth after root canal treatment. Crowns can be made of metal or esthetic porcelain materials to give a natural look to restored teeth.
