Dr. Matt Corbin

Dr. Matt Corbin is an Air Force veteran with premier dental training, local roots, and a deep passion to serve his community. Born and raised in Franklin, he draws on a nearly 200-year heritage in Macon County. His passion for the local community and desire to serve others is what drove Dr. Corbin to the field of dentistry.

In 2010, Dr. Corbin completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC where he played two collegiate sports. During college, Dr. Corbin met his beautiful wife, Charissa and they married in the Spring of 2011 before beginning dental school at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During dental school, he excelled clinically and served as President of the American Student Dental Association and Student Representative on the North Carolina Dental Society Board of Trustees. He served as the dental school Representative in the Graduate and Professional Student Federation and received the James A. Harrell Citizenship and Leadership Award for outstanding leadership in dentistry, community, place of worship, and higher education. He completed research with the Graduate Operative Department and served at free dental clinics both locally and abroad, including directing dental mission trips to Guatemala and Peru.

After graduating dental school in 2015, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force and completed a 1-year residency program where he furthered his knowledge and skills in many advanced specialty aspects of dentistry. He then took an assignment to serve a 3-year tour at a remote location in Alaska, where he practiced advanced surgical and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Corbin led his team to multiple awards, including Air Force Small Dental Clinic of the Year. He and his wife introduced two beautiful girls into the world during their time in Alaska. Sadie Ann and Josie Lee are their most precious possessions.

Dr. Corbin is so honored to be back and serve Macon County, North Carolina, this great place we call home.

Dr. Ashley Collins

Dr. Collins knew she wanted to be a dentist since the 5th grade. As a young child, she received dental treatment that instantly relieved pain and initiated a curiosity and passion for the art and science of dentistry. She realized the immediate impact she can make for patients, and she began the road towards achieving that goal.

Dr. Collins is a North Carolina native, hailing from Southern Pines, NC. She received her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from North Carolina State University. During her freshman year, she met her husband, Hobe. Not long after meeting, Hobe brought Ashley to his hometown of Franklin, where she fell in love with the beauty of this quaint, mountain town. 

Dr. Collins continued her education at North Carolina State University and received a Master’s of Physiology degree in 2017. While earning her master’s degree, she worked as an orthodontic assistant in Cary, NC. She started dental school at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine in 2018. During dental school, Dr. Collins embodied the school’s mission of serving the underserved by volunteering at the Bernstein Clinic, Missions of Mercy clinics, and the local food bank. Dr. Collins was selected as a J. Bradley Wilson Schweitzer Fellow for the 2020-21 fellowship year. As a Schweitzer Fellow, she logged over 100 project hours working in ECU’s Oral Medicine Clinic helping to educate and treat patients with autoimmune diseases. During her fourth year of dental school, Dr. Collins provided care as a student doctor in rural areas across the state. During her rotations, she enjoyed volunteering at free dental clinics in Cashiers and Bolivia, NC. Dr. Collins also got the opportunity to provide free dental treatment to veterans at both Smiles for Vets events hosted by her dental school.

Dr. Collins loves dentistry because she loves getting to meet and form relationships with patients of all ages. She has a passion for learning and loves the dynamic qualities the field of dentistry provides. Dr. Collins is a foodie and loves to cook and try new restaurants. She lives in Franklin with her husband and fur baby, Banks. Dr. Collins feels so fortunate to be a part of this wonderful community and the Corbin Dental family!

Dr. Harrison Conner

Dr. Conner was born and raised in Franklin and graduated Franklin High School in 2015. He was an active member of the Track & Field team that led him to compete in college at Western Carolina University. He graduated with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry in 2019. Suring his college years, he was given the opportunity to shadow the late Dr. Larry Barbles. He witnessed firsthand the impact dentistry can have on an individual and it inspired Dr. Conner to pursue the dental profession and serve the dental needs of his hometown. He obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from East Carolina University’s School of Dental Medicine in the Spring of 2023. He graduated with honors, was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dentist Honors Society and was awarded the Student Leadership Award. He served as an active member of the Periodontology Club, Hispanic Student Dental Association, and the American Student Dental Association. Outside of his dental profession, Dr. Conner enjoys spending time with his fiancée, Marguerite van der Vorst, working out, fishing, eating Oreos and hanging out with family and friends. We are excited to have Dr. Conner in our office and the skills that he provides to our patients!

Aimee Trawick

Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Aimee attended Auburn University and eventually moved to Western North Carolina in fall of 2012 where she instantly fell in love with Franklin. After a successful career in property management in North Carolina, Georgia, and Texas, she decided to scale back her work-related travel to be at home more with her family. An expert in customer service, Aimee will be one of the first smiling faces you will meet at Corbin Dental. She and her husband Patrick have been married since 2006 and have three sons - Haddon, Hudson, and Talon, and four dogs – Mia, Maverick, Chuy, and Penny.

Amber was born and raised in Franklin. She graduated from Franklin High and received her dental education from AB Tech in Asheville, where she completed both the dental assisting and dental hygiene programs. Amber has been practicing dental hygiene for 10 years and patients love her easy-going personality and excellent clinical care. She is a devoted wife and mother to her two children. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Ashley Adams
Patient Care Coordinator

A Native of Rabun County, GA, Ashley attended dental assisting school with the American Red Cross at Kadena Air Force base in Okinawa, Japan. She has served as a dental assistant in pediatrics, orthodontics, and in general dentistry. For the last 8 years Ashley has been serving patients from the front office side with scheduling, insurance and helping patients understand their treatment needs. Ashley Joined our team in July of 2021. Ashley currently lives in Rabun Gap, GA with her husband, Tommy and their two boys. She loves spending time with her family and traveling.

Charissa is a native of Austin, Texas and quickly fell in love with the North Carolina mountains when she attended Appalachian State for her undergraduate degree. She graduated with a degree in Public Relations & Marketing and brings over 5 years’ experience in schedule coordination and patient care to our team. Charissa loves working with her patients, understanding their needs, and helping them create a plan that fits their season of life. Outside of work, Charissa spends most of her time with her husband and two beautiful daughters, Sadie and Josie, exploring the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.

Chelsea Clawson

Dental Assistant/Patient Care Coordinator

Chelsea joined our team in the Fall of 2022. Originally from Sylva, she attended AB-Technical College for Dental Assisting and graduated in 2019. She has extensive experiencing in pediatrics and has a genuine heart for all of her patients. She serves in several roles including dental assisting, scheduling, patient management and insurance. We are blessed she chose us for her work family.
She is newly married to her husband, Evan and they have an Australian Shepherd named Lexie. Outside of work, she enjoys shopping, making biscuits at the Burnt Biscuit Café, spending time with family and friends, and gardening.

Cori Sellers

Born in South Florida, Cori and her family moved to Franklin when she was two. Cori graduated from A-B Tech Community College in Spring 2022, where she obtained her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. Despite being young in her profession, she’s incredibly passionate about patient care and strives to make patients feel comfortable in the dental chair.

She has a passion for athletics and enjoys keeping active alongside her fiancé, Eddie. She has a love for the small community she grew up in and the people within it.

Emma Odell

Emma is from Otto, NC where she currently lives, with her husband and son. She loves to spend time with her family and working on their farm.

She graduated from Lees-McRae college with a BS in Health Science Biology, and received her BS in Dental Hygiene from the Medical College of Georgia in 2011. Her objectives are to help make patients feel comfortable, treating them professionally and courteously, and helping patients understand the importance of oral and systemic health in order to achieve a better overall health.

Born and raised in Franklin, Julie’s path to Dentistry began at Western Carolina University with studies focused in Health Sciences and Nutrition. Her interests and hobbies have always been wellness-focused. Her regard for health and personal care, compassion for patients, along with a dynamic 18-year dental career – from Pediatric to Periodontal Specialties- make Julie an extremely well-rounded professional in patient care. She is a faith-driven mother of two boys and is an avid outdoor enthusiast who cherishes the mountains she calls home.

Katie McCall

Dental Assistant

Katie grew up in Sky Valley and attended school in Highlands. She started with us in the Summer of 2022 as an intern while she completed her Dental Assisting Program through A-B Technical College. Her dedication, work-ethic, and eagerness to learn inspired us all. She joined us full time in August 2022 and we are blessed to have her on our team. Her training and dental assisting skills are superb, and our patients are grateful for her care.

Outside of the office, Katie loves the outdoors, spending time with her family, and exploring the mountains we are blessed to call home.

Born and raised in Franklin, Leanna brings a wealth of dental knowledge and patient care experience to our team. She graduated from the A-B Technical College Dental Assisting Program and has served as a Dental Assistant, Scheduler, Insurance Coordinator, and Patient Care Adviser. She joined our team in July 2020 as a Patient Care Coordinator and she works hard to make sure every patient understands their treatment, costs, insurance, and schedule. 

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and doing life with her husband, David and their labradoodle, Lucy.

Meagan Cochran

Meagan is a Franklin native. She attended A-B Technical College for Dental Assisting and graduated in 2016. She has an excellent clinical skillset and has a deep passion for this community and the people here. Meagan works hard at making sure every patient feels welcome, safe, and understood. 

She is married to her best friend, Dalton and they have a precious son, Easton. They have two loving fur babies - Max (Siberian Husky) and Odie (Blue Heeler). She enjoys going to the lake, golfing, spending time outside, camping, hanging out with friends and family, as well as attending Windy Gap Baptist - her childhood church.

Sasha Hollingsworth

Sasha Hollingsworth, RDH joined our practice in June and is a native of Rabun County, GA. She started her dental career as a Dental Assistant in 2011 and went on to pursue hygiene. She graduated from LAnier Technical College in 2015 with a degree in Dental Hygiene and was awarded with the Golden Scaler Award for achieving the status of best clinician in her class. She is passionate about her profession and enjoys helping her patients, as well as educate them on oral and systemic health. Her patients adore her and are so thankful for the time she takes to educate, recommend products that with their oral health, and care for them. Sasha is married to her best friend, Nathaniel, and they have three beautiful kids – Natalie, Knox and Noah. In her spare time she enhoys cooking, painting, hiking, camping and enjoying a good drag race. What a blessing she is to our office and patients!

Sonya Haggart

Dental Assistant

Sonya joined our practice in May 2022. She brings over 20 years of experience in dental assisting, and has been Dr. Collins right hand gal from the start. She makes all of our patients feel at ease and ensures they are comfortable and cared for while here.

In her free time, you will see her tending to her immaculate garden where she is known as the Dazzling Dahlias Queen. She also assists her husband in his photography business and is a mom to three beautiful children.
